120 hectares of property. 52 hectares of vineyards with 16 Cru.
Our grapes ripen within the 120 hectares of company-owned property, spanning three municipalities in Franciacorta.
This significant estate has allowed us to identify 16 different crus with distinct cultural and pedoclimatic characteristics. It’s a true wealth of personalities enhanced during the winemaking process to create base wines with their own specific identity.
The guiding philosophy behind our work is to valorize nature in its uniqueness, in strict respect for the environment that generously welcomes us.
The Winery: A Rigorous Winemaking Process
Gentle pressing of selected Crus, aging in barriques, and a minimum of 48 months in the bottle.
The Conti Ducco recipe epitomizes meticulous and daily care in all stages of processing, from vineyard management to cellar practices, resulting in wines with a truly artisanal soul.
During harvest, we handpick every cluster, allowing each one to rest overnight in refrigerated cells to preserve its aromatic profile before proceeding with gentle pressing. We exclusively use first-press flower musts, which are then vinified in separate stainless steel tanks until the creation of cuvées.
The finest quality crus ferment and age in French oak barriques and tonneaux for at least five months. A carefully selected range of woods chosen by our winemaking team to reflect the Conti Ducco style.
The lengthy wine aging process continues in our historic fifteenth-century cellar. This evocative environment allows us to naturally preserve Franciacorta, enabling impeccable aging that extends far beyond the regulatory requirements, reaching up to 100 months.
The Terroir: An Extraordinary and Dedicated Habitat
Exclusive use of prestigious Chardonnay and Pinot Noir grapes
The quality of a wine is the result of complex interactions between natural conditions, geographical location, and the microclimate in which the vine grows.
Our lands, situated in the heart of Franciacorta, fully benefit from the proximity to Lake Iseo and the influences of cold currents from Mount Orfano and the surrounding morainic hills. Additionally, the particular composition of our soils, rich in metamorphic rocks and minerals such as quartzite and siderite, transported to us following the melting of the ancient Adamello glacier, contributes to this.
It is through the in-depth study of our Terroir that the specific viticultural project for each individual plot begins, as well as the decision to exclusively use Chardonnay and Pinot Noir grapes in purity. This bold stylistic choice allows us to obtain Franciacorta with a strong identity.
Crafting Excellence: Our Mission in Winemaking
An Artisanal Supply Chain: From Vineyard Management to the Cellar...
Crafting wines entirely produced at the source, our artisanal refinements encapsulate the essence of our land and culture. The care and control of the entire supply chain are managed directly to ensure the full implementation of company policies aimed at achieving ever higher quality standards.
The precious grapes are exclusively sourced from our own vineyards, tended to directly by the skilled hands of our agronomists. Bottles are hand-moved and carefully arranged one by one into imposing stacks, creating a play of balance and intricacy in our age-old cellar.
When the long aging process is complete, the time for disgorging arrives, a fundamental phase also managed internally, as is the packaging. Each bottle is meticulously wrapped by hand and numbered, a final ritual to seal a work of art whose completion has been eagerly awaited.
From the moment the first buds emerge to the sight of the finished product, time passes slowly, almost suggesting that achieving excellent results requires patience and meticulousness, following protocols but with the passion passed down through generations within the same family.
