Conti Ducco
Among the Founders of Franciacorta
In 1967 Count Piero brought the current Conti Ducco winery to life by using and enhancing the ancient estate’s properties that his family had looked after for centuries.
Count Piero was one of the funders of the Franciacorta Consortium, laying the foundations for one of Italy’s most prestigious DOCGs and establishing himself as a protagonist in the birth and development of the territory and the method that proudly bears its name.
Today the thriving business is led by Count Giorgio, a promoter of farsighted innovations and an advocate of wines produced entirely at the origin.
An important winery’s feature is the meticulous and artisanal care taken throughout every stage of production, from tilling the land to managing the vineyards and even during the cellar operations.
We Select Only the Finest Crus
First Pressings and Extended Aging
The Conti Ducco Method is stricter than the Franciacorta regulations. We use grapes from the best crus we own and only the free-run juice from first pressings. Each plot is fermented separately to create a wide variety of base wines, with aging periods longer than the required minimums. These principles guide us to achieve excellence.
The Terroir
The quality of a wine results from the complex interactions between natural conditions and the specific soil characteristics of its geographical area.
Free-Run Juice
The highest quality juice, obtained exclusively from very gentle first pressings, and the only type used for our Franciacorta.
The Cellar
The most enchanting and mysterious place, a vault carved into moraine rock that provides optimal conditions for long aging.
